Botox®
What is Botox®?
Botox® is an injectable medicine that softens wrinkles on the face caused by muscle contractions. The most common treatment areas for Botox are across the forehead, corners of the eyes (crow’s feet) and between the brows. Botox is the #1 selling treatment of its kind worldwide and is approved for use in 98 countries.
How Does Botox® Work?
Patients who want to slow the development of wrinkles undergo Botox® treatments. The product has the ability to inhibit muscle motion – the cause of these wrinkles and lines. The product is injected into specific muscle fibers – those that are constantly in motion – causing limited motion, resulting in a more restored, youthful look. Botox® is incredibly safe, requires only minutes to perform and results last up to 4 months.
Botox® is one of the safest cosmetic injectables available and has been relied upon by millions of people across the globe for decades. However, it is very important that the injections are performed by a highly-skilled professional. The results of injecting too much Botox®, or in the wrong muscle strands pose a risk. Our specialized practitioners focus on creating the most natural look in every procedure performed in our facility. Xeomin®
Xeomin (incobotulinumtoxinA, also called botulinum toxin type A), is made from the bacteria that causes botulism. Botulinum toxin blocks nerve activity in the muscles, causing a temporary reduction in muscle activity. Xeomin is the purest botulinum toxin on the market. Through a proprietary process, the excess proteins are removed from the molecule, thereby decreasing the possibility of an immunity response. It is used to temporarily lessen the appearance of facial wrinkles (sometimes called “frown lines”) between the eyebrows, and for upper limb spasticity in adults. Xeomin is used to treat cervical dystonia (severe spasms in the neck muscles). It is also used to treat muscle spasms (stiffness) in the arms. Xeomin is also used to treat certain eye muscle conditions caused by nerve disorders. This includes uncontrolled blinking or spasm of the eyelids, and a condition in which the eyes do not point in the same direction.
